Getting everything home and stored is the least favorite part of being a CSA member. It’s a bit of a chore, but really no worse than putting away groceries after shopping. Most veggies last longest when stored in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. I don’t like using a lot of plastic, so I wash and reuse my zip-top plastic bags from week to week. I store my salad mix in a salad spinner, which removes any excess water and keeps the lettuce from getting slimy.
I wasn’t sure what to do with the rhubarb so I chopped it and stored it in the freezer to use later.
I will re-pot the basil plant and put it outside on the patio.
